Are you searching for creative activities for your kids this summer? Spark the imagination of your little ones with Recycled Summer at Yuchengco Museum, a series of arts and crafts workshops that will teach your children how to reuse, reduce, and recycle the fun way. The workshops—which run from April 25, Monday, to May 16, Monday—are open to kids 5 to 12 years old.
Through six morning sessions every Monday and Thursday, children will explore a wide array of crafts, make their own toys, go green by reusing everyday objects, and learn useful skills. Among the projects that participants will create are toys from recyclables, plush toys, terrariums, and piñatas. The summer workshop culminates with an exhibit of the participants’ selected works at the museum.
Each workshop session will be facilitated by La Pomme and Heartmade. Apol Lejano-Massebieau of La Pomme has been creating handsewn whimsical fabric objects and plush toys since 2007, while Fiona Fajardo-Hernandez of Heartmade is a child psychologist who has been teaching craft workshops for a decade.
Workshop fees range from P1,200 for one session to P5,800 for all six sessions. Discounts are available for siblings and children of Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC) employees. Workshop fee includes craft supplies and a certificate of participation. For details and registration, contact Yuchengco Museum at (632) 889-1234 or email [email protected]. Yuchengco Museum is located at RCBC Plaza, Corner Ayala and Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenues, Makati City.
