Guerrero extends the coverage from the first generation of Filipino social realist artists who were active during the Martial Law period in the 70s and 80s to include other artists who pursued the same advocacies through their art.

This book includes writings on the lives and works of Nunelucio Alvarado, Demetrio de la Cruz, Antipas Delotavo, Neil Doloricon, Imelda Cajipe-Endaya, Edgar Talusan Fernandez, Karen Flores, Renato Habulan, Jose Tence Ruiz, and Pablo Baen Santos.
