Interlocking tendrils, a design patterned after the pañuelo for Queen Isabela II of Spain. The Original design was embroidered on piña fabric using a shadow applique. Pañuelo’s were loose big collars, triangles or squares folded and pinned at the front. An integral part of the Maria Clara gown in the 19th century.
