Consideration for Others
Although discussion in the galleries is encouraged, please keep voices respectfully low. The museum is a place for looking, thinking, and quiet discussion. Running and rough play are prohibited. Please follow the instructions of Security Officers in the galleries.
Respect for Artwork
Do not touch any of the objects in the museum. The dirt and invisible oil on our fingertips leaves a film on any surface touched. Over time, these marks attract dust and pollutants from the air, damaging even the strongest metal or stone. Please refrain from pointing or gesturing when you are close to unprotected works of art.
Food (including candy and gum) and drinks are prohibited in the galleries. Umbrellas, shopping bags, and backpacks must be checked at the baggage counter at the lobby. Please bring your valuables with you. All belongings must be collected on the same day.
Photography & Sketching
Photography for personal use is allowed inside the museum. Flash photography and photographing individual artworks, however, is not permitted.
For press and other special photography, please contact Carla Martinez, Information Officer, during business hours by phone (632-889-1234); fax (632-887-5144); or e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Drawing or sketching when pre-approved by the museum is permitted.
The museum is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is not allowed within the building.
