The event marks the 50th year of Mr. Del Mundo’s prolific career, and he will be appearing with other industry guests at this live event.  The program will include a screening of the award-winning feature film he wrote and directed, “Pepot Artista,” which stars Rio Locsin, Cris Villanueva, Epy Quizon, Bituin Escalante, Nonie Buencamino, and Elijah Castillo, followed by a screening of his short film “Superfan”.

Mr. Del Mundo, or Doy to many, is one of the key talents responsible for helping bring about the second Golden Age of Philippine Cinema in 1976. Because of the acclaimed 1975 film “Maynila: Sa Mga Kuko Ng Liwanag”—which he wrote in 1974 as a screenplay based on the Edgardo M. Reyes novel, and was directed by Lino Brocka—filmmakers were inspired to come up with great works of their own.

The year 1976 saw the release of such unforgettable films as:  “Itim”, “Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon, “ “Insiang,” “Nunal sa Tubig,” “Minsa’y Isang Gamu-Gamo,” “Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos,” “Ligaw na Bulaklak,” “Putik Ka Man Sa Alabok Magbabalik,” and “Magandang Gabi sa Inyong Lahat.”
