UNTITLED (Man with Book) undated Graphite on paper 21.3 x 15.5 cm
Fernando Zobel (1924-1984) was one of the key figures in the introduction and education of modern art in Manila, especially in non-objectivism in the 1950s. When he settled in Spain in 1960, he found collegiality and identity in the company of his generation of Spanish artists. His vision and generosity were instrumental in the conception and establishment of the Ayala Museum and the Ateneo Art Gallery in the Philippines and the Museo del Arte Abstracto EspaƱol in Spain.
